Directions to make chicken tikka
The Secret to preparing chicken tikka quickly is to follow the step-by-step chicken tikka recipe. Start with the following instructions to prepare chicken tikka bites quickly at home.
Step 1- Chop the chicken
Wash the boneless chicken and dry it. After it gets dry properly, slice the chicken into bite-sized chunks. Make sure pieces are not that big, otherwise, it will take time to cook.
Step 2- Prepare the marination
It is time to prepare for marination. Take a large bowl and mix yoghurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, salt and cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper and other spices to it. Now mix all the ingredients properly. Your marination is ready. Move to the next step on the chicken tikka recipe.
Step 3 – Marinate the chicken
When all the ingredients are blended, it’s time to add the chicken pieces to the mixture. Once you add the chicken pieces to the marination, start coating the chicken with the marination. Stir the mix until the chicken pieces are well-coated. Now add oil to the mixture again and stir to coat the chicken pieces properly.
Cover the bowl with a lid and leave it overnight or for 6-7 hours in the refrigerator.
Tip: The longer you leave the chicken for marination, the more succulent and juicy it will be.
Until your chicken is marinating, prepare the veggies for the chicken tikka.
Step 3- Prepare veggies
Wash the capsicum and red bell pepper and cut them into small cubes. Repeat the same procedure with the onion and keep it in a separate bowl. Keep the veggies aside.
Step 4- Arrange the chicken with veggies
After 6-7 hours, take the marinated chicken out of the refrigerator and add the cubed veggies. Coat them well and marinate them for at least 15-20 minutes. Now line a baking tray with a foil or baking sheet. Put the rack over the baking tray for grilling the chicken tikka.
Note Preheat the oven to 250℃ for grilling the chicken tikka bites for 15 minutes.
Take skewers and put the marinated chicken in them along with veggies alternatively. Put the skewers on the rack. Ensure there is enough space underneath to provide enough heat for the chicken to cook.
Step 5- Grill chicken tikka for at least 15-20 minutes in a preheated oven
Once you have prepared the chicken tikka tray, put it into the preheated oven and grill the chicken tikka for at least 20-30 minutes. You can check after 15 minutes if the chicken is half prepared or if the veggies are not burnt. Put the tray in the oven again. This time rotate the skewers to make the chicken tikka cook from all sides.
Step 6 Serve
After 20-30 minutes, open the oven and take out your chicken tikka. Give it a little rest and check whether it is cooked properly or not. Serve it with green or red chutney for a more favourable taste.
